The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Jobs and Families and Minister responsible for Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario – FedNor.

“We have an incredible agricultural sector in Northern Ontario, and this flagship initiative allows our farmers and producers to showcase their products and services to a global audience of nearly 300,000 people. This investment of $786,294 will enable the world to discover and purchase many of the great agri-food treasures our region has to offer,” said Secretary of State (Rural Development) and MP Pauline Rochefort.

The agri-food sector is vital to our social and economic well-being, and our businesses have a lot of fantastic products and services to offer the world. A strong agri-food sector means good, healthy foods, and it means strong, self-reliant communities. It also means strong supply chains.

"By showcasing our agri-food businesses and producers on a global stage, we can help them increase sales and expand into new markets so they take their business to the next level," added Rochefort.

Agricultural leaders and 4-H Club members from the Nipissing - Timiskaming riding will attend the Royal Winter Fair to exhibit their livestock and showcase the strength of the agricultural community and opportunities in the riding.
